Container Hotel (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
I have never thought that staying in a budget hotel can be this comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I also like luxury hotels and the feeling that it gives, but during my trip to Malaysia I’m up for some adventure! I have booked my reservation through www.booking.com, they don’t charge fees whatsoever for the reservation, you will only need a credit card to guarantee your booking with them and you will pay the total amount on the hotel itself when you arrive.
Our check in time should be before 2pm, but the hotel is so kind that they have acknowledged my emai that we will be arriving around 8pm since Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 is less than an hour from the City Centre. We stayed there for 1 night, and the experience is amazing! the place is designed very well made out of containers and even the rooms! Yes, even the rooms! And the place has Wifi too!
Container Hotel is an eco-friendly hotel that emphasises on going green, plus it wont hurt your wallet, and how they design the place is very artistic and one of a kind! Located at No 1, Jalan Delima, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, approx. 10 -15 minutes from Petronas Tower.
They have 4 types of rooms:
1. OUTGOING (Double Decker Single Bed ( Dormitory )
2. ADVENTURE (1 Super Single Bed)
where we actually stayed for a night. and it is sooooo cool! ( i mean it! )
3. CONSERVATIVE (1 Queen Bed)
4. OUTGOING (group)
You will meet a lot of back-packers too who’s also up for an adventure!
Here are some photos I took during my stay
the container rooms
if you are staying at an adventure room like we did, you will need to use this panel with this huge mirror, what is more beautiful when you meet people while brushing your teeth or scrubbing your face? haha
look how Zen-type it is…
this is the shared bathroom and comfort room
the Zen-type Comfortable lounge, so you can have a seat and grab some Ice-cold beer, and well of course meet new people! they serve coffee, bread with spreads and tea for free! 🙂
Some of their designs that I find very nice …
Well, it was indeed a one-of-a-kind stay and experience, gave me a different feeling of excitement and let me explore other place to stay. The Hotels Supervisor/Crew JB is very nice! We had a good laugh talking about the hotel and Malaysia! You might wanna give it a shot!
Over all, my verdict during my stay is (comparing to other budget hostels/hotels) :
Rating : 8.5/10 (Very Good)
Price: 4 /5 stars (very cheap room starts at 85RM)
Facilities: 3.5 /5 stars
Location: 4/5 stars
Service: 5/5 stars

That seems like an amazing place to stay! I’m currently traveling Europe with my boyfriend and we’ve either couch surfed or stayed in the cheapest places (with good reviews) we could find. Though we’ve often had to share bathrooms, it’s been quite fun the whole time and we get to spend our money in other things! Booking.com is how we got our places too, it’s very reliable 🙂

I havent tried couch surfing. is it fun? how was it? can you share any of your most memorealbe experiences? I am also planning for a big trip to Europe before 2015 ends, keep me posted on your EU travel! would love to get tips and tricks from you! cheers!

It is great fun! Just like searching for a good low-budget hotel, with couch surfing you can view peoples’ profiles and decide for yourself whether they sound OK. Staying with locals is excellent ’cause often they can show you around and spend some time with you. Colin and I couch surfed in Malmö, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Venice and I’m yet to have a bad experience! Have a look on couch surfing.org if you’re interested 🙂

WOW!!! This looks absolutely amazing! I want to look into staying here. Replying to your question regarding budget hotels/hostels I find it a lot easier to make friends then staying at a hotel. People are very humble and hostels provide more information/deals. Your trip looks awesome!
Happy Travels!

i couldn’t agree more. hotels are fancy and quiet, while hostels can be attractive as well and comfy too. but the people that you will meet along the way, the connections you have is growing and most of all the unlimited learnings y ou will get out of life. keep me posted jess! can’t wait for your next post! when are you planning to go back ro malaysia? anyways, if you are planning to visit PH soon, let me know. shoot me an email! 🙂 ♥

hi. thanks for visiting my page. this hotel is really cool. it is good that budget hotels / b&b are available without sacrificing the quality that the guest will get. if you are on a vacation, most likely you will just be in the hotel for sleeping / cleaning up / breakfast, so this is a great find! 🙂
